SSC CGL 2026 Notification Salary & Pay Scale

Candidates selected through the SSC CGL examination will receive a salary corresponding to Pay Levels 4 through 8. Specifically, under Pay Level 4, the basic pay typically ranges from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100; whereas under Pay Level 8, the basic pay ranges from ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100. In addition to basic pay, candidates are entitled to various allowances, including HRA, DA, TA, and Medical Allowance.

SSC CGL 2026 Notification Selection Process

The 2026 recruitment process will be completed in three stages, which we have outlined below:

1. Tier I Exam (Preliminary)
2. Tier II Exam (Mains)
3. Document Verification (DV)

SSC CGL 2026 Notification Exam Pattern

The SSC CGL Tier-I examination will consist of objective-type questions. For each incorrect answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted; there will be a total of 100 questions, carrying a maximum of 200 marks. The duration of the examination will be one hour (60 minutes).

Tier-I

Candidates who qualify in Tier 1 will become eligible to appear for the Tier 2 examination. In Tier 2, Paper 1 is mandatory for all candidates; it will consist of a total of 150 questions carrying a maximum of 450 marks, and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. For certain specific posts, an additional Paper 2 may be required; in such cases, 0.5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper 2.
